Terms and conditions

These are the terms on which Yogasena Yoga School teaches yoga, in the hall in MSR Nagar, Bengaluru and live online, and the terms on which you use https://yogasena.com. They are short because the arrangement is short: you come to classes, you pay for the month you attend, and either side can stop.

One gap, stated plainly. The registered legal entity and its registered address are not confirmed yet, so this page names Yogasena Yoga School and gives no registration number, GST number or registered office. Nothing has been made up to fill the space, and it will be filled in before anyone is asked to rely on it.

Full terms and conditions

What you are agreeing to

By booking a class, attending one, or using this website, you agree to what is on this page. If you do not, the remedy is straightforward: do not book, and message the teacher to say why, because a term somebody cannot live with is usually a term worth rewriting.

Booking a place

Places are booked by message on WhatsApp at +91 82176 67359, by email at [email protected], or through the form on this site. A booking exists once it has been confirmed in a reply. There is no contract to sign, no membership card and no minimum number of months.

Group classes have a limited number of places, in the hall because of its size and online so that every person stays visible on screen and can be corrected by name. A place may occasionally be offered for the following batch instead.

Fees and payment

Every fee is published on the fees page and none is quoted privately at a different figure. In-person classes are ₹3,000 a month, live online classes ₹3,500 a month wherever you live, and one-to-one sessions ₹2,000 each. Students outside India pay the same rupee fee on an international card.

Fees are paid directly by UPI or bank transfer at the start of the month you are attending. This website takes no payment at any point. There is no gateway, no checkout, no stored card and no standing instruction, so nothing renews by itself and nothing needs cancelling. A receipt is issued on request.

Published fees may change. A change is told to current students at least one month before it applies, and it never applies to a month already paid for.

How classes run

In-person classes run in the mornings, and online classes at the times published on the online class page. An online class is live: cameras stay on, because a teacher who cannot see you cannot correct you. A recording is sent if you miss one, but the live class is the class.

Occasionally a class is moved or cancelled, for a public holiday, an illness, or the hall being needed by the association. You will be told as early as it is known, and the class is made up or not charged for.

What is expected in class

  • Arrive on time. A class that has begun with breathing is disturbed by a late entry.
  • Nothing to eat for about two hours before, and no alcohol beforehand.
  • Stop when you are told to stop, and stop before that if something hurts.
  • No photography or recording of other students, in the hall or on screen.
  • Treat the hall and the mats as somebody else’s property, because they are.

A place may be withdrawn for behaviour that makes the room unsafe or unpleasant for others, for repeatedly ignoring an instruction to stop, or for attending intoxicated. Any unused fee for that month is returned.

Health, and what is not claimed

You must tell the teacher about any injury, medical condition, recent surgery, pregnancy or medication that could matter in a class, before your first one, and tell him when any of it changes. The sequence is built around what you disclose. What is not disclosed cannot be worked around.

Yoga taught here supports medical treatment and does not replace it. No condition is claimed to be cured. Nobody here will tell you to stop taking something a doctor prescribed, and if anyone ever does, do not listen to them. If a doctor has told you to avoid a movement, that instruction wins over anything said in class.

You take part at your own risk and are responsible for working within what your own body will do on the day. Do not force a posture because the person beside you is deeper into it.

Recordings, sequences and this website

Recordings of online classes and any written sequence you are sent are licensed to you for your own practice. They may not be shared, uploaded, resold or used to teach. The writing, drawings and code on this website belong to Yogasena Yoga School; quote a paragraph with a link by all means, but do not republish a page.

Using this website

The guides, sequences and posture pages here are general information, written carefully, but they are not personal instruction and they cannot see you. Practising from a page is done at your own risk, and anything on a page is overridden by what a doctor has told you.

Limits of liability

Reasonable care is taken in teaching and in what is written here. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for injury or loss arising from ignoring an instruction, from not disclosing a relevant medical condition, or from practising unsupervised from this website. Nothing on this page limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here removes any right you have under Indian consumer law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction. In practice, almost everything that goes wrong is a misunderstanding about a timing or a fee, and one message usually settles it.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and a change that materially affects current students is told to them directly.

Not legal advice

This page was written by the people who run the classes, in plain English, to describe the arrangement honestly. It is not legal advice and it has not been drafted or reviewed by a lawyer. A qualified Indian lawyer should review it before it is relied on.

Questions about the terms

Do I have to sign anything to join?

No. A place is booked by a WhatsApp message and confirmed by a reply. These terms are what you agree to by attending a class, and they can be read in full before you come. There is no membership contract, no minimum term and no notice period.

What am I agreeing to about my health?

That you have told the teacher, truthfully, about any injury, medical condition, surgery, pregnancy or medication that could matter in a class, and that you will tell him if any of it changes. The sequence is adapted around what you disclose, so an omission is the one thing that can genuinely make a class unsafe for you.

Can I share the class recording with a friend?

No. Recordings and written sequences are given to you for your own practice. They are not to be forwarded, uploaded, resold or used to teach. This is not about revenue. A sequence written for a group whose knees and backs the teacher knows can be the wrong sequence for somebody he has never met.

What happens if the teacher cancels a class?

You are told as early as possible, and a cancelled class is either made up or not charged for. It is never simply lost. The full detail is on the refund policy page, along with what happens if a batch is discontinued altogether.

Can I be asked to leave a class?

It has effectively never been necessary, but yes, in three situations: behaviour that makes the room unsafe or unpleasant for other students, repeatedly ignoring an instruction to stop a posture, or attending while intoxicated. In that event any unused fee for the month is returned.
