Refund and cancellation policy

This sets out how Yogasena Yoga School returns money for classes you paid for and did not attend. It matters more here than at most schools, because fees are paid directly by UPI or bank transfer rather than through a payment gateway, so there is no card dispute to fall back on. This page is the protection instead, and it is written to be usable rather than to be defended.

One gap, stated plainly. The registered legal entity and its registered address are not confirmed yet, so this page names Yogasena Yoga School and gives no registration number or GST number. Refund requests go to the teacher directly, on +91 82176 67359 or at [email protected].

Full refund and cancellation policy

How fees are paid, and why that matters here

There is no checkout on this website and no payment gateway anywhere on it. Fees are paid directly to the teacher by UPI or bank transfer once you have decided to join, and no card is ever stored. Every published rate is on the fees page: ₹3,000 a month in person, ₹3,500 a month online, wherever you live, and ₹2,000 for a one-to-one session. Those figures are read from the same source the fees page reads, so the two cannot disagree.

The consequence is worth being blunt about. Because there was no gateway, there is no chargeback, no dispute button and no third party to appeal to. What you have instead is this page, a person who answers his own messages, and a policy that is deliberately more generous than it strictly has to be, because that is the only way direct payment is fair to the person paying.

Monthly fees

A month is a month of classes rather than a package that is forfeited the moment it starts.

  • Stopping partway through a month. Tell the teacher you are stopping and the unused part of the month is refunded, worked out on the classes remaining after that day. The figure is sent to you before any money moves, so you can check it.
  • Stopping before your first class. The whole fee comes back. Nothing has been used.
  • Classes you simply did not attend. If you paid for a month, kept your place, and missed some mornings, those are not refunded, because the place was held and the class ran. A run of missed weeks is usually better dealt with as a pause: see below.
  • A quarterly payment, once one exists. The same principle applies, worked out on whole months remaining.

The free class

Nothing is ever paid for it, so nothing is ever refunded for it. You are not asked for a card, you are not signed up to anything by attending, and there is nothing to cancel afterwards. If you came once and never came back, you owe nothing and are owed nothing. The same is true of the seven day morning challenge on the free class page.

One-to-one sessions

A one-to-one hour is held for you and nobody else can use it, which is the only reason there is any notice period at all.

  • Cancelled with reasonable notice, which in practice means a day: moved to another time at no cost, or refunded in full. You choose.
  • Cancelled at short notice for something unavoidable such as illness, a hospital visit or a family emergency: moved, not charged. Nobody is asked to prove it.
  • Missed without any word: the fee stands. This is the one strict line on the page, and one message beforehand avoids it entirely.
  • Cancelled by the teacher: moved or refunded in full, whichever suits you.

If a class is cancelled by the school

A class occasionally has to move, for a public holiday, an illness or the hall being needed by the association. You are told as early as it is known, and the class is either made up on another day or not charged for. It is never quietly lost.

If a batch is discontinued altogether, every rupee paid for classes that will not now happen is returned in full, without anybody having to ask.

Pausing

Pause once per quarter, for up to four weeks, without losing the time you paid for. The weeks you miss are added to the end of what you paid for rather than refunded, because that is what almost everybody actually wants: you are buying a practice, not a calendar. It applies to monthly, quarterly and half-yearly plans alike, and to unused sessions in a one-to-one pack.

Message before the weeks you intend to miss rather than after they have gone, and say roughly how long you expect to be away. Beyond one pause a quarter it stops being a pause and becomes a break, and a break is handled under the monthly rules above as a refund of the unused portion rather than as a credit that keeps growing. Travel, surgery and a fortnight at work that eats every morning are all ordinary and none of them needs a reason given.

How to ask, and how long it takes

One message to +91 82176 67359 on WhatsApp, or an email to [email protected], saying what you paid and when. No form, no reason required and no retention script. You will get the amount back in writing first so you can check it, then the transfer.

Refunds go by UPI or bank transfer to the account the fee came from. They are usually sent within three working days of being agreed, and always within seven. If a refund is refused, you will be told plainly why, in writing, on the same day.

Your rights

Nothing on this page takes away any right you have under Indian consumer law, including the Consumer Protection Act 2019. Where this policy is more generous than the law requires, the policy applies. Where the law is more generous, the law applies. The wider terms are on the terms and conditions page, and what happens to your contact details is on the privacy policy page.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change never applies to a fee already paid.

Not legal advice

This page was written by the people who run the classes, in plain English, to describe what actually happens. It is not legal advice and it has not been drafted or reviewed by a lawyer. A qualified Indian lawyer should review it before it is relied on.

Questions about refunds

I paid for the month and stopped after two classes. What do I get back?

The unused part of the month, worked out on the classes remaining after the day you say you are stopping. A month is a month of classes, not a package that is forfeited the moment it begins. Say so on WhatsApp and the figure comes back to you the same day, before anything is transferred, so you can check the arithmetic.

How does the money physically come back?

By UPI or bank transfer to the account the fee was paid from. There is no payment gateway on this website, so there is nothing to reverse and no card statement to wait for. Once agreed, a refund is usually sent within three working days and always within seven.

I cannot make my one-to-one session on Thursday.

Tell the teacher and it is moved, at no cost, as long as you give reasonable notice, which in practice means a day. A session cancelled with reasonable notice can also simply be refunded in full if you would rather not reschedule. A session missed without any word is the one case where the fee stands, because the hour was held for you and nobody else could use it.

What if the teacher cancels?

It is made up on another day or it is not charged for, and you choose which. If a batch is discontinued altogether, everything you have paid for classes that will not now happen is returned in full, without you having to ask for it.

Do I get a refund for the free class?

There is nothing to refund. The free class costs nothing, needs no card and creates no obligation, which is the whole point of it. If you came, disliked it and never returned, you have lost an hour and no money at all.

Can I pause instead of asking for money back?

Usually that is the better arrangement. Pause once per quarter, for up to four weeks, without losing the time you paid for. The weeks you miss are added to the end of what you paid for rather than refunded. Message before the weeks you want to miss rather than after them, and say roughly how long you expect to be away. Beyond one pause a quarter it becomes a break, and a break is refunded rather than credited.
